Tyson and I constantly find ourselves in extremes – whether that’s heat on the motos, cold while skiing, or heat in the summer work months. Most recently we went down to Mexico and Central America and this is a product that I am so bummed we didn’t have with us. It would have saved us at least 3 GoPro batteries and I would’ve felt so much better stashing camera gear in this vs. the cheap amazon “case” we had. The 2.8L TechCapsule by PHOOZY is the perfect way to carry camera gear and know it will be protected from heat, cold, dust, rain, – anything. Not only is the TechCapsule awesome for camera gear, but it can also be used for a plethora of different things like aviation gear, everyday carry, medical equipment, and more.
The TechCapsule is different than any other carrying tote or gear organizer because it protects the contents from extreme heat and cold. The outer layers reflect the heat while the inner layers insulate. Using the TechCapsule will actually extend your battery life up to 4x in cold temps. This goes for your phone battery, tablet, or camera batteries. No more worrying about if your batteries will be zapped before you even get to the adventure. This protection is thanks to a Nasa derived “chromium thermal barrier shell.”
In addition to protecting your gear from the heat and cold, the TechCapsule also floats. While the TechCapsule is not fully waterproof, it is water-resistant. The seams aren’t taped and the zippers aren’t waterproof so if you submerge the TechCapsule, water will eventually seep in. From most environments, like mist or rain or dew, everything inside the TechCapsule will be protected. The floating benefit is great because if this ends up in the water at some point, you’ll be able to quickly retrieve it because it will be on top of the surface.
There are a few different ways to carry the TechCapsule. With the included and removable strap, you can wear it as a crossbody or a fanny pack. It also has a handle on the top and my personal favorite, the integrated attachment system on the back. All of our moto gear (packs, luggage, tank bags) utilize the Molle system so with the back integrated straps, we can easily attach this to any location on the motos (or on our back). It’s pretty sweet to be able to just throw this on the motos and go, knowing our gear will be protected.
I really dig how the front pocket is all about organization and keeps everything in its place. The larger back pocket still has organization within it like the two mesh pockets on the rear side but is a bit bigger. There’s also an included hidden pocket which is a great place for money, a passport, etc. The entire pocket is lined with microfiber which is key when stashing camera gear or any device that has a lens that could easily scratch.
Overall, not only is the TechCapsule keeping us organized on our adventures, but it’s also protecting our camera gear. We can confidently throw our gear in the TechCapsule and ride off knowing that nothing will get damaged because of extreme temps.
