[Review] The Sundowner by SPY

If you know me you know that I am a fan of color! You can probably imagine my excitement when I first laid eyes on the Sundowner Sunglasses by Spy in the ever-amazing Emerald color. Not only can I protect my eyes, but I can also be colorful and bright while I do it. The Sundowner Sunglasses are an ideal frame shape, comfortable, and affordable.

While the lenses in the Sundowners are not Spy’s Happy Polarized lenses, they still offer 100% UV protection, which will keep your eyes healthy no matter the adventure you’re on. On the sunniest of days and even the cloudiest of days, if I’m outside then I have sunglasses on. Personally, this gray with turquoise mirror is ideal for the lower light/cloudy days. I feel as though these lenses are just a little bit light for a bluebird day but that could be a personal preference.

Even though these are simple sunglasses, which in result means that they are more affordable, I still have found the quality and durability to be consistent with all of my Spy sunglasses. Built with indestructible Grilamid®, I’m not afraid to take these sunglasses rock climbing, biking, or even dirt biking for when we stop for breaks and take off my helmet and goggles. The nice thing about the Sundowners is that if for some reason they don’t make it home from an adventure, I’m not totally upset that I broke/lost/damaged a pair of $150-$200 sunglasses.

I feel as though these are a basic, medium sized frame that is really versatile in the size of face it can fit. There is no gripper material on the nose piece or temple and so on extremely sweaty days or activities, I do find that they can slip down my nose a little bit. On normal days, I don’t have a problem with them moving and they feel solid on my face.
