The Lowdown 2 Sunglasses by Smith are the ideal frame for everyday wear. Of course, with the Smith name you’re getting a very stylish frame that can keep up with whatever adventures you may throw at them. The ChromaPop lens enhances colors and contrast making your views even better than they already are.
The frame of the Lowdown 2 is lightweight yet doesn’t feel cheap and is made with Evolve eco-friendly material. I love both the look and feel of the matte front and gloss back (see photo). There’s also non-slip megol nose pads so these glasses stay in place whether you’re dancing the day away, riding your mountain bike or simply out exploring unknown places.
I’m a huge fan of Smith’s ChromaPop and once you go ChromaPop, it’s hard to go back. Not only do these lenses provide your eyes with protection from the sun’s harmful rays, but you also experience a clear, contrasted, and colorful view. Smith explains it as “a unique combination of patented polarization and color management technologies” (smith.com). It’s quite an experience and if you haven’t yet tried it, I would recommend it.
I will say, with these particular lenses being the ChromaPop Green Mirror, you must take very good care of them. The mirrored coating is definitely more susceptible to scratches than just a normal ChromaPop lens. In hindsight, it probably wasn’t the best choice of lens when you’re spending 24/7 on the beach.
If you’re looking for a durable and stylish medium-sized frame that you can take with you on any adventure, look no further than the Lowdown 2 by Smith. You’ll love the look and feel and your view out of the ChromaPop will be unlike any other lens you have.

Lowdown 2
$139Pros
- Amazing ChromaPop Lens
- Fit really well
- Can wear when you're biking/climbing etc. and won't get in the way
- Eyes never feel fatigued even out in the sun all day
- Look stylish but perform really well
Cons
- Mirrored lenses in general can be more susceptible to scratching - not a con but something to keep in mind if you are really rough on your sunglasses (opt for non-mirrored)
