We were lucky enough to try out some SHRED. Goggles this year for skiing and to say we were impressed would be an understatement. With the ultimate purpose of goggles to improve your visibility during the day, we’ll start with the lens. Not only are these lenses interchangeable, SHRED. has made it easier than ever to help you choose the right lens for the conditions you mainly ride in. I won’t go into detail here but you can learn all about VLT and what lenses are good for your riding conditions by heading to their website. I would suggest having the bare minimum of two lenses – one for sunny days and one for cloudy and if you ride a lot, you could even add an in-between lens to that kit.
The Amazify goggles are comfortable up against my face and there’s venting on the top and bottom of the goggles to ensure adequate airflow so you don’t fog up. These are also a part of SHRED’s BigShow Recycled line. This is cool because “84% of the strap is made with recycled plastic bottles, which will allow SHRED to recycle about 170 plastic bottles every 100 pairs of goggles made” (SHRED.com). These frames also work over prescription glasses comfortably.
Most importantly, the Amazify’s offer 100% UVA-UVB-UVC protection. I like the look and the fitment of the Amazify goggles and I would say that I have an average to large face and these fit well. They aren’t terribly oversized but are a good fit. Cally can also wear these nicely and she has a bit smaller of a face.
