With spring now in full swing it has given me a chance to wear the Swift All Season Pant by Adidas in a variety of conditions. I’ve been wearing Carhartts for years and I thought it was time to maybe upgrade to a more all around adventure pant like the Swift. These are great pants for hiking, climbing, or just relaxing.
The Nano-Tex finish is a great feature especially for someone like myself who has been known to spill from time to time while drinking. Not only can you simply wipe off a spilled beverage but they also do well in light rain and drizzle/snow. They are not going to keep you dry in a downpour but for any unexpected light rain showers they will have you covered.
With elastic yarn used for part of the construction these pants are going to move with you, not restrict you. I wore them on a pretty brutal day of canyoneering and they excelled. From hiking to climbing to rappelling they were always up for the task and performed awesome. In Moab it was around 75 degrees and I did find the fleece on the inside was getting to be a little warm. That’s probably the hottest I would want to wear the pants.
The Swift All Season pants will always stay put no matter what situation you find yourself in. With three different options to keep the waist up you’re sure to find one to your liking. They have belt loops, elastic, and a draw string. Some may call it overkill but I’d rather have my pants up then down.
One point to touch on is that I found the pockets to be a bit small. I don’t have overly large hands but I found it hard to fit my entire hand into the pockets let alone a large iPhone or wallet. Some have complained about the placement of the pockets and I didn’t find that to be too much of a burden compared to the overall size.
I think there will be years of awesome memories made in the Swift All Season Pant. They seem to be a durable and comfortable pant that will withstand some abuse but still look good when going out on the town. If you’re looking for that pant to take up a Fourteener, accompany you on the river, or be there to keep the chill off in the winter then look no further.
