[Review] The Duolock Softbottle by Platypus

Just when you thought soft bottles couldn’t get any better, Platypus comes out with the Duolock Softbottle and blows your water bottle thoughts away. The innovation and design that went into the dual-locking cap system will make you think why didn’t I think of that? Not only is the cap great for drinking and pouring, filling just got that much easier.

Having a water bottle that leaks water is just about as bad as not having any water at all. Leaking, however, won’t be an issue with this Platypus soft bottle. The cap securely threads onto the bottle, closes down properly, and has a metal clasp to secure the cap even more. The lid in no way can inadvertently come off no matter what activity you find yourself doing with the Duolock Softbottle. Simply put, this bottle won’t leak on you.

With the built in clip gate handle, the bottle is not only easy to hold when you’re filling or pouring, you can clip it on to anything or anywhere and haul it with you. We’ve found this feature extremely useful for climbing and hiking, and even running out to the car when your hands are completely full.

I’ve found in the past that I just don’t know what to do with soft bottles when I’m drinking. Like, where do I put my hand, how does it stay up to my face without folding, and how in the world do I fill it with only my two hands? Maybe I’m a soft bottle novice but all of these worries have washed been away with the Duolock Softbottle. When you’re using it you won’t even know you have a soft bottle or hard bottle, except when it’s empty and you need to throw it somewhere small. Then you’ll know, because it’s so packable.

If you’re in the market for some soft bottles I would highly recommend these. The cap is genius and works really well and the clip/handle on the side will solve a lot of problems. With multiple sizes (.75L, 1L, 2L) and different designs and colors, you are sure to find the perfect combo for the adventures you have ahead of you. The Duolock Softbottle has everything and more that you could find yourself needing in a soft bottle.
