[Review] Power Houdi by Houdini

The Power Houdi by Houdini, a basic mid layer for any adventure, is made to last a lifetime. Instead of creating layers that potentially need to be replaced every couple of years, they are creating a fleece mid layer that can be worn for years to come and if something happens to it, can be fixed instead of replaced.

The force behind the Power Houdi’s long and strong life is Polartec’s Power Stretch Pro fabric. Not only is the Power Stretch Pro fleece super soft against the skin, it is durable and long lasting. I love the extremely soft micro fleece inner but the smooth finish outer is imperative to a versatile fleece. The smooth finish allows for easy layering on top of the Power Houdi, which is a must on any mountain adventure. The moisture-wicking properties of the inner micro fleece ensures that you won’t get bogged down by your back sweat.

The Power Houdi is definitely a technical fit, but not overly tight or restraining. Of course, the Power Stretch moves with you so you’ll never feel constricted when you’re making the most technical moves or simply throwing a tennis ball for your pooch. The collar is high and the hood is tight, so as not to get in your way when you’re out in the elements and keeps all of the heat in!

While the Power Houdi by Houdini, made with Polartec’s Power Stretch Pro, appears seemingly simple, it’s full of the most necessary features to make a powerful and durable mid layer. I love the fact that this is an investment piece, and for more reasons than usual. Houdini is making the Power Houdi with the fact in mind that you won’t have to replace the Power Houdi for years.   Not only is the Power Houdi sustainable in the fact that you won’t have to replace it for years, it’s made to be easy to fix should something happen to your Power Houdi. This is a mid layer that you can wear year round, during any adventure you may find yourself on.
