[Review] The ADV Tire Changer Kit by Rabaconda

If you’ve wrestled your fair share of tire changes on the floor of your garage, you will be equally blown away by the Rabaconda 3 Minute Tire Changer as we have been. Since we have both dirt bikes and adventure bikes, we decided to go with the ADV Kit, which includes some additional adapters, a PRO Tire Iron Set (5 irons), and 2 17” tire spoons. If you don’t go for the ADV kit and just get the tire changer, we highly recommend getting the PRO Tire Pros Set in addition to the stand. Whether you’re running tubes, tubeliss, or mousses, this is an invaluable piece of equipment to have in your shop. Not only does the Rabaconda Tire Changer save you time, it also saves your body from doing the hard work (and not to mention keeps everything up off of the floor).

This is hands down a piece of equipment we should’ve invested in from the start. Now that we have it, we no longer dread having to change a tire. It should be mentioned too that there is a method to the madness and Rabaconda has put together a stellar video on the technique of properly using their tire stand to change a tire. If you follow their technique, you likely won’t break a sweat.

The Rabaconda is a really well-built piece of equipment that will last a lifetime if you take care of it. One of our favorite features of the Rabaconda is that it will break down and fit into a carrying case that makes it easy to move around. Not only do we do some traveling, but we also move for half of the year. Being able to break down the stand and pack it into its carrying case is awesome whether you move around a lot, travel with your motorcycles, or go to races and need something you can bring with you and easily set up no matter where you are.

There are also some built-in features that make it easier to tackle tire changes like the bead breaker. The bead breaker, yes, breaks beads super easily but also helps to push the tire off with ease, and finish off installs of tires. It helps with that last stubborn bite while mounting tires. Next to the bead breaker are two extra hooks to hold tire irons which come in major handy when you need that extra hand. There is also a tire iron tray that keeps your tire irons in one spot that is easy to reach no matter where you’re working on the stand.

If you are moving around a lot with your Rabaconda tire changer, you won’t need to budget in a lot of time to set it up. It is quick and easy to set up and be on your way. One minor thing to mention is that we do feel like just putting all the pieces of the stand in the carrying case and traveling with it will over time wear the stand in places (only cosmetic really). We wrap it in packing paper before placing parts in the bag to hopefully keep our Rabaconda looking brand new. It’s probably just us being a little excessive but something worth mentioning. Will it impact function? Absolutely not. Could it scratch that nice green paint? Possibly.

Lastly, we know that the Rabaconda Tire Changer does come with a price. We feel as though this is an investment in which the benefits far outweigh the initial cost. It is something that we should’ve invested in many years ago and one of those things that you will get and look back and think, “how did I ever do without one.” In addition to saving you time, the Rabaconda is much more comfortable and easy on your body than wrestling tires on the ground. You don’t have to be a pro rider to work on your bike like one. Check out Rabaconda here and let us know if you have any questions.
