The new Abisko Midsummer Trousers by Fjällräven are the best hot weather trekking pant. Made with Fjällräven’s G-1000 Air Stretch, these pants are durable yet breathable and lightweight. In addition to being lightweight, there are also two vents on both thighs allowing for insane airflow when you need it most.
The G-1000 Air Stretch is…imagine this…stretchy. I can pretty much do anything in these pants, including rock climbing which is impressive for a pair of trekking pants. I can easily move in these pants without feeling restricted. Adding to the mobility of these pants, there’s a crotch gusset.
In high wear areas, Fjällräven has brought in reinforcements so these pants will hold up no matter the adventure. Even though these areas are reinforced, they don’t feel stiff or hot. The ripstop throughout, while it won’t completely restrict rips, it will keep them from spreading out if you happen to snag your Abiskos.
The Abisko Midsummer Trousers fit me really well. I’m 6’ tall and 190 pounds and I’m wearing a size 50 in Fjällräven size. I also have the Keb Trousers which are a heavier weight trekking trouser in a size 50. The Kebs are a bit large on me and I have to wear a belt with them. I thought I would size down for the Abiskos but the 48 was way too tight. The 50s fit perfectly. Hopefully this can be helpful for some.
The Abisko Midsumer Trousers are the perfect lightweight trekking pants for those hotter temps when you still need a long pant. They’re durable yet light, well-fitting yet nonrestrictive. The cuffs also tighten down so when you need to keep these pants up and out of the way it’s easy to do so.
