Linkage Guard for Beta Xtrainer by Bullet Proof Designs [Review]

Although my Beta is starting to remind me of my six-year-old self—my parents used to make me wear every type of protection available while all the cool kids wore no protection—I am overall happy to have the piece of mind that I’m protecting my new moto to the best of my ability. The Linkage Guard by Bullet Proof Designs is simple, affordable, and made with high-quality materials to withstand any abuse that’s thrown at it.

The Linkage Guard takes all of about 30 seconds to install. I think it took me longer to walk to the tool bench and grab the right wrench than it did to install this part! Take note that the install directions I received instructed me to remove the stock linkage bolt. You do not need to remove anything! The BPD Linkage Guard basically clamshells (I’m going to make this term a thing) over your linkage. It fits perfectly over the stock linkage bolt. The guard then tightens down with a provided bolt to ensure a snug fit. The interlocking design of the guard also helps to keep it in place no matter the terrain.

Bullet Proof Designs parts are all made in the USA and the Linkage Guard is made with 6061 American Aerospace Grade Billet Aluminum. This guard is lightweight yet impressively strong. BPD also stands behind all of their products by offering a lifetime warranty. I’m confident that the Bullet Proof Designs parts that I’ve installed will long outlast this moto, especially at my rate of destruction.
