If you’re looking for a simple helmet audio system that has 24 hours+ of battery life, a high-quality sound and can adapt to any helmet (even full-face moto helmet) look no further than Konnect’s Adventure Helmet Audio System. Sold separately is the Konnect 3BR which is a game-changer for the helmet audio system and we wouldn’t recommend the speakers without the remote.
The 3-Button Remote (3BR) is beneficial in many capacities. First of all, you can mount it anywhere on your helmet so you can easily access it with or without gloves on. Instead of pulling out your speakers when you need to charge them, you can easily plug into the 3BR and charge externally. Once you get the speakers set, you can leave them forever! It would be hard to recognize the buttons on the speaker without the remote, so we definitely think that the 3BR is key. On the actual remote, it’s very easy to find and use the button even with large mittens on.
Another key feature of the Konnect Adventure Audio System and the 3BR is that it is a single click system. You don’t have to double click any buttons, only single clicks with short, long, or longer holds. I don’t personally have a preference on this style, but it has been easy to adapt to the button functions. I do like how Konnect includes a quick guide and for the first few times of using this audio system, I definitely have to reference it.
The size of the speakers is compact and easy to fit in a range of helmets. I know for a fact some of the other helmet audio systems I’ve used would not easily fit in my moto helmet. Each speaker measures 35x35x12.5mm and in addition the cord is a flat style wire so you’ll never feel the cord once it’s run through your helmet liner.
The sound quality of the Konnect Adventure Audio System is really good especially at the $99.99 price point. I will say that if the earflaps on your helmet liner don’t sit right up against the ear you will have some sound quality loss. If for some reason you feel like the speakers aren’t sounding right, try playing around with the location of where they are mounted in your helmet. Ideally, you want them to sit right over your ear. Also, before mounting the 3BR, put the helmet on and play around with what feels the most comfortable for where the remote should be mounted.
I really like how Konnect is doing something different when it comes to helmet audio. I think the 3BR is key for the system and do wish that they just sold them as a complete package. Personally, for me, the 3BR is easier to find than if the controls are on the actual speaker and it is just a little bit more straightforward. I also like that once I get the system set in my helmet liner, I never have to take it back out! It saves a lot of time and hassle.
Overall the system is made with high-quality materials, fits a wide range of helmets, and is affordable. Once you start using an amazing and easy audio system in your helmet, you’ll never go back.
