Don’t let the name fool you, the Keele Hoody by Mountain Hardwear is not your average hoody. Not only does the Keele Hoody have a Durable Water Repellant exterior, it’s interior is the softest Doubleweave Brushback high pile fleece you’ve ever felt. Wearing the Keele Hoody is like slipping into your softest and coziest layer, but being protected on the exterior from any elements that may come your way.
The fit of the Keele Hoody is really nice. I’ve found that sometimes in the past, Mountain Hardware layers can fit a little short on me in the torso and arms. That is absolutely not the case for the Keele Hoody. It is nice and long and even has a slight drop down hem in the back. I’m 5’10 and 155 pounds and wearing the size medium. There is even room to layer up beneath the Keele Hoody which I can see myself doing during the extremely cold winter months.
I usually have a tendency to fall in love with my mid-layers and wear them non-stop. That’s easily the case with the Keele Hoody except for the performance of this hoody is a step above. I can wear this out in the elements and stay warm and protected. It’s the perfect layer for shoulder season, especially for those cold mornings and evenings.
The zippered closure pockets are placed nicely because you can still access them if you’re wearing a climbing harness. I really like that the pockets have zippered closures so I can be sure to keep my valuables safe if I’m out. The pockets also double as vents, as they’re lined with a soft mesh material that allows for some additional airflow.
If you’re looking for a 4 season mid-layer, look no further than the Keele Hoody by Mountain Hardwear. It will keep you warm, dry, and is so soft up against the skin.
