[Review] Eva Hybrid Capri by Kari Traa

If you’re like me and you get cold easily, even on those relatively mild days, the Eva Hybrid Capris by Kari Traa are worth investing in. These are a down-filled layer that are insulated where you need it most to be worn as a mid-layer. I wear my base layers, the Eva Hybrid Capri, and then my shell bibs or one piece and I am finally warm on the coldest of days. It seems a bit excessive to wear so many layers but if you know what it’s like to get cold and stay cold, you’ll understand why it needs to be done.

Filled with premium 80/20 duck down, the Eva Hybrid Capris provided a lot of warmth without much bulk. With these under my shells, I don’t feel bulky or like I’ve got a lot of clothing on which is a bonus.

Combined with the stretch paneling, you won’t notice you’re wearing these capris because your movement won’t be restricted at all. I do feel like without the stretch paneling, these would be a little bit more uncomfortable for long days on the hill so I’m glad Kari Traa opted for the stretch/down mix. Of course you have down where you need it most including crucially the rear! Say goodbye to a frozen butt.

I definitely dig the fact that Kari Traa made these a capri. If they were full-length, I’d have a bunch of extra material where I don’t need it. Between my base layers, ski socks, and ski boots, there’s not a lot of extra room. Luckily you don’t even need to worry about it because these end right where they should. I find that consistently with Kari Traa gear, you can tell that the women behind the gear are skiers.

While these aren’t the most flattering pair of pants I own, the Eva Hybrid Capris are definitely some of the warmest pants I own. They’re easy to layer with and keep me feeling warm and comfortable on even the coldest of ski days. Whether you’re heading out on the slopes, heading down the street to your yoga class in the dead or winter, or just hanging out in the cabin, the Eva Hybrid Capris will keep you toasty warm. If you put the shell bibs on the back burner because you always found yourself to be too cold when wearing them, bring them back out once you have the Eva Hybrid Capris by Kari Traa.
