This year has been our first time trying climbing gear from Cypher and it’s easy to say that we are very impressed. Not only is Cypher relatively affordable, it is high-quality gear with simple features that make a complex difference. The Echo Quickdraws are no exception and they’re light, comfortable, and versatile. The Echo is a good middle of the road quickdraw in terms of weight and price.
The Echo draws are offered in an 11cm and 16cm sling. We went with 11cm. Each draw weighs 76 grams which isn’t saying a lot when you pick up an individual draw, lots of gear may feel light in that instance. But when I pick up a set of 6 or 12 draws, that’s when I can really feel how light these are. We haven’t upgraded our climbing equipment in many many years and now that we feel what we’ve missed out on, we’re kicking ourselves for not doing it sooner!
The integrated rubber keeps the sling in place which makes for a seamless clip. The feel on both the key lock top carabiner and wire gate bottom carabiner is nice and ergonomic. Every feature on the Echo draw is working for you not against you.
One thing that continues to impress us with these draws is the anodized finish. It looks really nice but it is also extremely durable! These will look nice for many adventures to come. We’re excited to have upgraded to lightweight, durable, and comfortable draws that we’ll use rock climbing and ice climbing. The Echo Quickdraws are an amazing option whether you’re a novice or expert climber. They won’t break the bank and you’ll keep extra weight at bay. *We received these quickdraws for free in exchange for a review, however, it’s important to know that all thoughts are our own.
