[Review] High Waisted Trail Pants by Drifted

If there’s one place I prefer to drift off to, both mentally and psychically, it’s the desert. The High Waisted Trail Pants by Drifted are the perfect desert pant no matter what activity you’re doing. Whether camping, hiking, climbing, or just romping around the desert, the High Waisted Trail Pants are ultra comfy, super lightweight, and very stylish. Whether you’re camping close to home or traveling halfway around the world, these pants are ideal.

I’m most impressed with the fit and feel of these pants so I’ll touch on that first. I’m 5’10 and 155 pounds and usually wear a size 8 in jeans and medium in leggings. I sometimes question pants that only run in the XS-XL size range vs more specific numerical sizes, but was so impressed when I first pulled these out of the package to try on. I went with the medium and they are literally the perfect fit. They’re not too tight but still flattering and the length is spot on.

These pants are great for hot weather exploring. They are made with lightweight material so you don’t get overheated but you are still protecting your legs from the sun and any rocks, bushes, or trees you may get too close to. They are also breathable and quick drying. In addition to drying quickly, the High Waisted Trail Pants also have a DWR coating. This doesn’t mean they are entirely waterproof but in a light drizzle, you won’t get wet. If you’re canyoneering and you find some water, these may get wet but they won’t stay wet. Similarly, if you’re traveling and packing light, these are easy to wash in your hotel sink and hang out to dry for the next day.

I especially dig the pockets that are strategically placed throughout these pants. All four front pockets have zip closures which is key for me for an active pant like this. I really like the two thigh pockets as I can fit my phone, zip it in so I know I won’t lose it, and easily access it even if I’m wearing a big pack.

Adding to the style, fit, and breathability, I really like the detailing down the calf of the pants. This allows for a custom fit and feel and you can tighten or loosen the hem depending on what your style is. 

I really love my new Drifted pants and I am looking forward to trying more gear from them.
