[Review] The Sherpa Top Dog Bed by Carhartt

If you know Hank, you know he loves to sleep and lounge around. He’s a lazy hound dog. He’s tried out a few new dog beds in the past few months and one of his favorites is Carhartt’s Sherpa Top Dog Bed. The Sherpa Top Dog Bed is made with a plush poly-filled cushion and the cover is built with Carhartt’s famously loved cotton duck canvas. The cotton duck canvas is durable and will withstand a lot of abuse. We know this because we actually got Hank a Carhartt bed when he was a puppy (he’s 8 now) and it’s still going strong. It has flattened a bit but the duck canvas outer is still in amazing shape (though a bit faded).

Hank loves the cozy sherpa top of this dog bed and he gets so comfy on it. It’s really the best of both worlds with durable duck on the sides and bottom and a comfortable sherpa top. The nice thing about this bed is that the cover easily zips off and is machine washable. It’s not a fight to get it off and on so keeping your dog’s bed clean is a breeze.

We anticipate the poly-filled cushion to flatten a bit over time and we know we’re not giving Hank optimal support with this bed like he gets with his dense memory foam bed. We’ve actually seen benefits of him sleeping on a thicker, denser bed, but he really seems to like this one even though it’s a bit softer. Ideally, it would be awesome to see Carhartt design a bed with a dense foam insert and durable duck outer.
