The LowRider Aero Tandem SUP by BOTE is one of the coolest upgrades we made to our Baja camp/RV kit this season. Not only is this an amazing stand-up paddle board – it’s also a kayak hybrid that packs into a nice bag so you can take it with you. Pretty sweet that for the size of a large suitcase and about 50 pounds, we have a boat packed with us anywhere we go.
We love the BOTE LowRider for many reasons – it’s super stable (hello, 10-month-old Charlie), it’s easy to pack, and it’s very comfortable if you don’t want to do long standing missions. The BOTE is versatile – which is hugely important for us as we simplify our lives and travel in a 30ft RV.
It’s evident that BOTE products are made with high-quality materials, made to last, and made for an amazing user experience (see all of the add-on options and accessories).
Switching from SUP mode to kayak mode is super easy and quick. Simply remove the seats, switch your paddles from kayak to SUP, and you’re ready to go. The chairs removed from the board also offer unexpectedly comfortable beach chairs.
It’s pretty sweet that we can roll up to a body of water, unpack our LowRider, head out for a mission on the water and pack it back into its bag when we’re done. Here are some key specs for the LowRider Tandem:
Dimensions: 11′6″ L × 36″ W × 6″ D
Capacity: 500 LBS
Board Weight: 38 LBS
Seat Weight: 5.6 LBS
Travel Bag Dimensions: 39.5″ H × 22.5″ W × 12″ D
Loaded Bag Weight: 50.8 LBS
The LowRider Tandem is truly a boat in a bag and if you’re looking to take a boat with you anywhere you go, be sure to check out BOTE. They have a ton of different options. This one works well for our family and the adventures we like to head out on, but if it’s not your preferred mode, check out other options.
*We received this gear for free in exchange for a review, however, it’s important to know that all thoughts are our own.
