[Review] The Abisko Sun-Hoodie by Fjällräven

The first thing I’ll mention about the Fjällräven Abisko Sun-Hoodie is that I’m not sure how I ever lived without it. It’s the perfect hot weather long sleeve to keep you protected from the sun. It’s extremely light and breathable to keep you comfortable while shielded from the harsh sun. I’ve worn the Abisko Hoodie for everything from hiking, to mountain biking, to razoring, and often when I’m just hanging around camp and the sun is out.

The Abisko Sun-Hoodie is made with lightweight polyester that is breathable and quick drying. Whether you’re recreating in or around water, sweating a lot, or you are traveling and need to do a quick wash on the Hoodie, the material is extremely quick drying. Quick-drying is so beneficial for a multitude of reasons but I love that I can wash it on the go.

I love the design of the Abisko Sun-Hoodie with the collar and well-fitting hood. The hood easily fits under a helmet which I find very useful for keeping the sun off of my neck. The brim of the hood is fitted and won’t fall down in your eyes. There’s also an opening for a high ponytail!

I was a little surprised by the fit of the Sun-Hoodie, though I am happy with the overall fit! I’m 5’10 and 155 pounds and went with the size medium. I think it’s a tad oversized, but I wouldn’t want a layer like this right up against my skin. If you don’t like your layers to be loose, I would recommend sizing down one size.

Overall the Abisko Sun-Hoodie is a great piece of gear to add to your quiver to protect you from the sun. It’s lightweight and easy to pack and will keep you feeling fresh and un-burned at the end of the day. Just be ready to wear this every day you’re out in the sun and nothing else!
